National Science Foundation Partnerships for International Research & Education

Our "U.S.- Japan Collaborative Research and Education in Terahertz Dynamics in Nanostructures" project is generously supported by a NSF-PIRE renewal grant (OISE 0968405) awarded to Prof. Junichiro Kono at Rice University and his co-investigators at our U.S. PIRE collaborating institutions. This is a continuation of funding received in our initial PIRE I award. A supplemental funding request for support for TeraNano III has recently been favorably reviewed and is pending award.

JSPS CORE-TO-CORE PROGRAM

In Japan, our research and educational collaborations related to the study of Terhertz Dynamics in Nanostructures is generously supported by a Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) Core-to-Core grant awarded to Prof. Masayoshi Tonouchi at Osaka University. Funding provided through the JSPS Core-to-Core Program will enable students and researchers from collaborating Japanese laboratories to participate in TeraNano III.

GOLD SPONSORS - $3,500 to $10,000

ASIAN OFFICE OF AEROSPACE RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT (AOARD) & ARMY - INTERNATIONAL TECHNOLOGY CENTER PACIFIC (ITC-PAC)

The Asian Office of Aerospace Research and Development (AOARD)
and the Army - International Technology Center Pacific (ITC-Pac) are jointly providing $7,000 in funding for TeraNano III and will each be sending up to three representatives to participate in the symposium. AOARD promotes technical interchange by supporting conferences and workshops in Asia and the Pacific Rim Region on topics of interest to the Air Force Research Laboratory. We wish to thank the Air Force Office of Scientific Research, Asian Office of Aerospace Research and Development and the Army ITC-PAC for their contribution to the success of this conference.
