Ethan Schaler (NJ 2008) will return to RIKEN in the summer of 2009 to conduct research in the NanoPhotonics Laboratory under the advisement of Prof. Kawata and his research mentors Norihiko Hayazawa, Alvarado Tarun, and Masashi Motohashi. Jaret Lee (NJ 2006) completed an internship to with STS Elionix through the NanoJapan Alumni Internship Program in the summer of 2009. During this internship, Jaret learned the intricacies of fabricating nanodevices using electron beam lithography (EBL), and gained insight into the manufacturing of these systems. Jaret also completed a summer 2007 internship with NTT in Japan through the now defunct JETRO Japan International Internship Program. Jaret was awarded a 2007 Australian Postgraduate Award to pursue PhD studies on the development of a new generation of solar cells based on nanowires at the Australian National University.
